Chichiri is a smart person who is accually a monk. He too has a a tragic past. He was once engaged to a women he loved. But his best friend took her away. The girl then killed herself in shame and Chichiri and his friend began to fight. But as they were fighting his friend fell into a flooding river and as he tired to save him he was hit in the face with a log, and was unable to save his friend or his village from the flood. That is why he accually has the scar on his face, and wont let it heal.
